look what i grew...
one year. ten months. one week. five days. look what I grew. a happy, healthy, beautiful baby boy. it's been one week since jack last nursed. an unexpected ending. a bittersweet moment. my baby is a boy. now independent from me. that time for only us is complete. for the first time in 7.5 years i am just me. not expecting child, not nurturing child, just me. i’m thankful i could give him this gift. i’m thankful i could help him grow

guess what...
Lily made the swim team! I am so excited for her! Looks like we will be spending our week at the pool this summer. I can hardly wait!
I've been working late for days. I'm tired. I'm going to bed.

ten on tuesday
1. I would love to keep up with "ten on tuesday" every week. A good reason to blog, right?
2. This week is teacher appreciation week and today is teacher appreciation day. This week will be spent spoiling the girls teachers. Just little things each day but the girls love it. Today lily's teacher will get a book from the book fair and tomorrow Starbucks! Handmade cards, a flower and an apple are also on the list.
3. I would love these for my bathroom
4. Tomorrow Scott has the final portion of his engineers test. I know he'll do awesome...keep your fingers crossed!
5. Ava's school has a Mother's day brunch on Friday. She gets excited to do her own thing now. She loves to feel special. I love to make her feel special.
6. Speaking of Mother's day, all I want is to sleep in!
7. I need two clones for Saturday. Seriously! My tri at 7:30, Lily's swim team tryouts at 8, Daisy event at 9, tball game at 11, and picnic at 5. Looks like I'm going to the tri solo and Scott's running all over town.
8. Last week I bought a wetsuit. A Mother's day present to me :) It takes me 15 minutes to put on and 30 seconds to take off, but it keeps me warm and helps me float!
9. Jack and his bff Blake were causing a little bit of trouble at the gym yesterday. I guess they were walking around in the child care together pushing other kids down! Oh boy! Here's a little clip of them from a few months ago.
10. For the 10 weeks of summer the girls and I are working on a photo challenge. We will each come up with our own list of everyday subjects that are completely random. I'm excited to get the creative juices flowing! I will share our lists soon.

read
One who loves to read, one who loves to rip up the book shelf and one who loves to rip up the books. She's been reading for almost two years now. Those who have seen their child learn to read know what an amazing development it is. From sounding out that first word to reading that difficult word you didn't know they could. Lily has loved reading from the beginning. She always loved being read to. Now she loves to read to herself and to her sister and brother. She reads in the morning, in the car, at school, in the car, on the couch and in bed. She will read two to three chapter books a day. Last week she started reading Harry Potter. She ofter has three books going at once. One at home, one in the car and one at school. My reader and her sidekicks...

good intentions
I always have them, but more often than not life gets in the way. But today I will not sleep before I blog!
1. How is it the last day of April? Tball and swimming pretty much sucked up our month.

2. Lily only has three weeks left in the first grade. What?
3. Jack will be two in seven week!
4. Only one blog post in April…this makes two :)
5. I will post one a day in May….
6. I finally made our summer vacation plans. One week, beach house, Legoland, Disney, fun!
7. Earlier this month, on our way home from school, Lily asked what it meant when you put your middle finger up. I explained in an age appropriate manner. She told me how a couple of boys in her math group were talking about it. I asked if she put her middle finger up at school. Of course I already knew the answer….then she asked what a cougar was….
8. Jack is sick today. Threw up all over himself and the car seat during the morning drop off…not sure if it’s from the clean up but now I’m not feeling so hot myself.
9. I swam in the lake for the first this week, training for another triathlon. Wetsuit and all! This one is in Tempe Town Lake. Hopefully I will stay well so I can compete. I’ve decided to go for 10 in 2010. I’m starting a little late so really my goal is 10 for Scott and me in 2010. I'll try to post more on this in May!
10. At the beginning of the month lily had a big gummy smile. Today she’s got a brand new smile :)

there's a new head of our table
he's 22 months old
loves oatmeal or waffles for breakfast
requests "dinosaurs marching" by laurie berkner all. day. long.
"mom, where ada go?" "mom, where yeyi go? "mom, where daddy go?"
calls milk moot
really wants his car seat forward facing
calls himself "blake" his bff
thinks he's really playing the wii
likes to watch vh1 jump start
sings lady antebellum "need you now"
gives a big, toothy, cheesy smile
need a second hair cut
loves to put his "shoes on"
would only wear one converse and one rain boot last friday
can't believe we are done with the highchair....

just ten
let’s see if I can get to ten
1. I took Ava to a spring training game yesterday. She was happy to have some one on one time with just mommy, “not Lily, not Jack, not daddy, not Sammy, just mommy!” We met up with some friends. She had a ball running around with her girl friends. I enjoyed soaking up some sun and chatting with friends. Karsen, her friend from about birth, in moving in two weeks. We are sad and will miss her family.

3. Lily had her first t-ball game last weekend. Not as easy to watch with crazy boy running around. I love this time of year.

2. Tuesday was my half birthday…now I don’t usually celebrate it but maybe I’ll start….36 and a half sounds much younger that 37! Hahah! We had rescheduled our anniversary dinner since there was a barforama going on here last week. melting pot…yum!

4. Jack is 21 months. He likes to swing like a big boy. Loves lady gaga and sings “la la la la la” so stinking cute! He has finally taken an interest in bedtime stories. His favorite is “goodnight moon” which was also a favorite of the girls at this age. He pretends to read it himself. Last night he noticed the moon and pointed to it. I said “that’s the moon jack” he pointed to it and said “reach it, boon”. The last couple weeks he’s started speaking in 3 to 4 word sentences like “mommy, where ada go?”

5. I can’t believe Scott’s dad has been gone for 10 years now. I’ve always had what ifs. lately, what if he was still here? What if the kids had their pop pop Allyn?
6. The leprechaun paid us a visit again this year! He’s a messy little guy. The girls can’t believe how he magically turns the milk and toilets green….
7. Spring break was almost a bust. Jack had a fever Friday-Tuesday, Ava started throwing up on Saturday morning, Jack and Lily started throwing up on Sunday night, Wednesday, all clear! Thank goodness we decided to stay in town!

9. Lily took her daddy to her first dance. He gave her a corsage, she danced the night away!

8. Jack fell out of lily’s bunk bed, we called 911, he was taken to the hospital by ambulance, he had a cat scan, he is ok!
Yes, I will go into more detail later.
