everyday

is over much too fast. i try to slow things down but sooner than later, it's time for bed. that's when i think, i didn't snuggle my baby enough, i didn't make him laugh enough, tomorrow i'm not leaving the house! little jack turned 5 months last week. even though i love the baby he is now, i would love to rewind and live it all again.

at 5 months my little peanut is 15 lbs. and 26 in. he has learned to get across the room by rolling or doing the inchworm. jack-sack sits but still falls over. he eats cereal, oatmeal, and orange veggies. not as fond of peas or bananas but he did like pears. he started to razz last week and thinks it's hilarious while daddy feeds him. his favorite toy is the jumparoo. boy can he get that thing going. baby jack-jack loves his sisters (especially the biggest)...he watches everything they do. he is a happy boy full of giggles and rarely does he cry. he is always drooling and chewing on his fingers. those poor swollen gums still haven't cut teeth.

today he's sick...all buggered up with a fever. get well my son. xoxoxo.

daddy's special day

happy birthday!!! yesterday was scott's birthday. the big "34". we took a trip to the fire station for lunch and brought daddy some pumpkin pie. lily made him a poster collage with photos from the past year. she's such a creative little girl. i'll try to post a shot of it if he brings it home. well here's life at 34...isn't it beautiful!

i'm really behind on posting all of the events over the past month. maybe i'll get around to it when things slow down a bit with the biz.

he's a sitter

my baby is sitting :( he's been working on it the past couple weeks and this week he started sitting up straighter. he's still really wobbly but he loves his new view! 19 weeks today.

that's what my little buddy boy thought of rice cereal last night. he opened up and slurped it down. i wonder how long until the girls are bored with feeding him...i'm sure baby jack-jack is going to be tired of being gagged with the spoon much quicker!

i must have blinked

because my son in 4 months today. jack is the sweetest, most content baby. he put himself to sleep and is still sleeping well, at least 7 hours straight at night. he loves his crib and when he wakes up i can hear him talking to his stuffed bear or the baby he sees in the mirror. he loves to play under his playmat and is now enjoying the jumparoo. he grasps toys better and brings everything straight to his mouth. his favorite blanket is the taggie blankie, he enjoys chewing on it. he rolls and really wants to sit. he loves hanging out in the bumbo seat while i cook and when we eat.

i'm working on reloading my programs after a pc disaster this week so i thought i would share a video clip of my boy.

the race

this year the kids joined in! first we walked the one mile. lily walked the entire thing while ava and jack relaxed and enjoyed the view. after that i ran the 5k. i'm pretty sure i ran it quicker than last year! woohoo!

heirloom

i found this crib a great pop pop's house. i loved it and thought is would be a interesting baby prop. this was allyn's crib. so from the moment i found out baby jack-jack was coming i had this vision in my head.

say it ain't so

baby jack-jack is only 15 weeks...and the teeth are coming. i believe the girls were over six months before they cut a tooth. i noticed this week while i was ticking my giggly boy, you can see the white swelling of teeth all the way to the top of his gums and markings on top where they are going to cut! ouch!

good morning

this is what i wake up to everyday... he's such a good boy. i hear him in the monitor. he usually works on his tummy time doing push ups, but now he's starting to play. he loves to look at himself in the mirror and grab at his toys. i just put his new rainforest toy in today. he loves it.

my favorite ones. i love gowns on babies and in jackie-jack's case it's the only time he'll be wearing one besides graduation (and when his sisters dress him up). my favorite gown is soft and thin and i love how you can see is feet through the fabric. i had to catch this before they're too small.

three months

at three months baby jack-jack weighs ____lbs. (to be determined) and is ____in. long. he sleeps through the night (8 to 10 hour stretch) and takes 2 to 3 long naps. he rolls from his belly to his back and reaches, bats, and grasps toys. he loves his bouncer, playmat and frog that hang above his changing table. if you want to chat with little jackie just change his pants, it's his favorite time to goo and coo. if you talk to him he smiles and his got a ticklish spot near his arm pit which makes him giggle. my boy is sweet and content and loves to sleep. it's hard to believe in only one month he will be eating solids food.

me: umm...poison control...yesterday my three year old swallowed a penny...today she ate the dogs thyroid medication.

pc: is she a health child, not on any medications?

me: yes

pc: she'll be fine (now keep an eye on your kid!)

*update* the penny has been recovered. and just in case you were curious....i did not save the penny.

ava just came to show me the penny she had in her mouth... as i told her to take it out before she choked on it... she fell and swallowed it! well the good news is it went right down. the not so good news is she hasn't pooped her pants in weeks. why is that the not so good news....well when i called the dr. office the nurse said i need to find the penny in her poop by tuesday or she will need an x-ray. you've got to be kidding me!

where were you...

i woke up went for my morning jog. listening to my favorite morning show while i ran. got home, got ready for work, and hopped in the car. turned back on the morning radio and heard the news, a plane had crashed into one of the WTC towers. they described a big hole in the building and it was on fire. i called and woke up scott to tell him to turn on the news. it was then he saw the footage of the second plane hitting the second tower of the WTC. i arrived a school where the tv in the library was on with teens gathered around it. it was then the first tower fell. school began. we turned the tv on and just watched. some asked questions. we had an early release that day. came home and sat on the couch watching, wondering....

i'll never forget.
