butterfly exhibit

the last trip of the year for the daisy troop. last month it was rained out, so we finally made it on saturday. the girls loved it! i knew they would. they are crazy about bugs and flowers and plants and cactus. jack on the other hand would have preferred taking a nap...

the end of the day....dirty, tired, cracking me up!

it's a tragedy

this little boy lives on our street.

i heard the sirens. then i heard the chopper. i went outside to see what was causing all the commotion. there were police and fire everywhere and a chopper landed on our greenbelt. my immediate thoughts would be validated later.

after what seemed like an eternity to the neighbors anxiously watching , the gurney appeared, surrounded by firefighters. i could see the iv bag, and what appeared to be a small child receiving cpr. i knew then my suspicions were correct... a child had drowned and my heart sank. an acquaintance of the family came over, she said to pray for the family, their baby just died, they found him in the pool. i cried.

please watch your babies around water. no one thinks it will happen to them, then it's too late. your supervision is the only barrier that will keep them safe.

a post a day in may

so i forgot yesterday was the 1st, but from today on i'm going to attempt it again. i've got a ton of stuff to catch up on.

look at this little guy on the go. he's a careful walker just like his sister ava was. i think the crawling days are just about over:( here's a little clip from earlier this week. he's so darn cute!

lily's half way through her first t-ball season! saturday's are soooo much fun. surprise is a pretty tight community with tons of kids. there are over 2000 in the league. every saturday she has a game and it's like a city playdate. everywhere you look there are people and kids you know. it reminds me of the good old days at palo verde during summer ball. these are some good times! from her very first game....

guess who's taking baby steps.....

that's right, just like his sisters did at 10 months. last monday my buddy took his first step. he's up to four now. look out people, he's a super fast crawler, just wait until he's a walker!!!!

jack turned ten months on sunday. can you believe it??? it feels like i was just pregnant and now i'm planning a birthday party.

he loves the camera and smiles for it....then he charges me and tries to rip it from my hands. he dances to music and will clap you hands (not his own yet). he loves to explore the playroom and throws everything from the shelves and kitchen. his favorite toy is the learning house with the door....he crawls back and forth, back and forth through it. he loves playing chase with his sister ava, she cracks him up lately. he now has four teeth on bottom and four on top. he babbles mama, dada, and nana (night night and num num as far as i can tell).

i love his baby belly laugh, and the way he still hugs me when i pick him up. i love to touch his pale soft baby skin and snuggle my face on it. i love how he laughs with excitement when it's time to eat. i love that my baby boy is happy. i love that he is growing into a boy.

look what daddy built....

a new swing set!!! The girls are sooooo excited! the little one has needed replacing since lily learned to swing herself. the thing shook and looked like it was going to tip over at times. here's a few snaps as daddy put on the finishing touches.

that's right, the tooth fairy! i think it took over a month but that sucker finally came out! it was actually knocked out when she bumped into a friend on the playground at school today. it's been really wiggly the past week and shes been begging her daddy to pull it but i was too afraid, i admit it! well it's out, and she happy. now she's got three more loose!

she went from the video clip on friday to making figure eights yesterday. it's terrifying!!! she only ran into the neighbors truck once :)

so long training wheels!

now i think she needs a bigger bike. lily finally learned to ride her bike without training wheels. she started last summer but was too scared of falling so we put the trainers back on and waited until last week, and off she went.....

my busy boy

turned nine month on thursday. 17 1/2 lbs and 27 1/2 in. were his stats. he's just over average on length but way low on weight. He's got a few chunks but burns all the calories he eats. He is standing all of the time and crawls fast enough to chase his sisters. it's so funny to see him do his speed crawl then flip around and sit up. it looks like acrobatics. at nine months he's working on sleeping through the night again, teething is rough on him, we're back to a 3 or 4 am wake up. six teeth and two more on the way. he loves to eat table food and screams when he's not getting it fast enough. he says mama, dada, and uh (ut oh) all day long. he loves the bath. "sitting in my high chair" is his favorite song. here's a few snapshots of my little guy exploring the house...

he's all over the house now. all doors must be shut. all polly pocket toys, barbie shoes, and whatever else he can find on the floor is slowly reaching the trash. he loves to follow his sisters around the house. the playroom is his new favorite place. so much to get into. it's only a matter of time until he turns into a princess :)

of my little girl. yep, she was student on the month for february. each month the student is chosen based on the character trait for the month. february was caring, which is 100% lily. her class voted for her and her bff vyvy. and to top it off, feburary was her first month of all green lights!!! the past two have only had one, but all green!!! she's come a long way!

i'm gonna miss this

that her tooth comes loose. last week her wish came true. she's got two wiggly teeth in that beautiful smile. time for me to start snapping away before they're all gone.

my little animal

today...

my boy is eight months old. 2/3 of a year. i cannot believe it! i remain sad at at that loss of my baby but am beginning to feel the excitement of what's to come. he is the happiest baby on earth. he adapts to whatever environment he is given. he is active but entertains himself for quite a long time. he babbles all sorts of baby talk, and yes dada came before maaaa. he loves to hear his voice and screeches when he wants your attention. he loves to eat and demands to when he sees food. my favorite thing about jack today...when i pick him up he grabs on to my neck and hugs and squeezes and nestles his head into my shoulder. it the most amazing feeling. he loves me as much as i love him.

first teeth

once they start the just don't stop. that's what it feel like for the first two years anyway. i've been trying to get a shot of these choppers for a couple of months now. four teeth two more coming. he grinds them, uses them to chew on his thumbs and blankets, and bites his milk source with them(ouch!). he loves that he can bite into food with them. happy teething my boy!
