happy birthday lily

can you believe she's 5...my sassy little girl is growing up. it seems like yesterday i was waiting for her to arrive, now i'm sending her off to kindergarten, and i don't remember life without her.

she's precocious and stubborn, loving and nurturing, a leader and has a wild imagination. she loves singing, dancing, swimming, pretending, and getting attention :) She can read early books and is learning to ride her bike(without the training wheels).

her favorites are pink, nightgowns, her new leapster, toys with lots of little piece, oj, fish, blueberries and broccoli. she likes hanna montanna, disney princess, eating out, and arts and crafts. her best friend is her sister.

up in the gym

just working on my fitness...

yep...back to the gym today. ran two miles, light strength training, and signing up for some gravity classes. it's been almost 7 weeks so i did much better than i thought. working out during my pregnancy really paid off. it's been a great recovery. first time leaving the boy :( i made it....first time daddy had all three alone :) he made it!

i'm late, i'm late...

nope....not this time. lily had her 5th birthday party today and it was alice in wonderland themed. the girls made madd hats, painted teacups, and hit the pinata. i think everyone had a good time. after the big event the family came over for a little cake and present opening for lily. thanks everyone! here's a few quick edits of the girl party.

it's a big deal for a little girl. we've talked about it for years. i told her when you're five it will be your turn. she's been talking about it for a few months now. she knew it was coming...she was going to be five.

well she's not five yet...but lily got her ears pierced!!!! she wanted to show everyone at her birthday party this weekend. it was so stinkin' cute...she was so excited, and not too scared. when they poked her she held those tears back and i just knew she wanted to cry. so i shed one for her. geesh...when did i become such a sap...that first day of school is going to be tough.

28 days... he still sleep enough for mini shoots. he'll even let me curl him up. i'm lovin' the color with his little stork bites. my sweet baby boy gave me his first real smile and tried talking to me today. he's even had some alert periods the past couple days.

we waited and waited and the storm kept rolling in. so we decided to hit sonic for some ice cream. on the way home we did one last drive buy... just as we passed the stadium the lights went out and the show began.

a belly button. yesterday morning i started to change his diaper, when i took off his jammies his cord was missing. scott found it on the changing table where he lost it during his early morning diaper change. lily is excited his "scab" fell off and ava was frightened he might be in pain.

due date

one week

has it already been a week since baby jack jack arrived??? one week ago last night he came into our lives. please slow down, please slow down.... you are most likely my last little one. the week has been filed with events, errands, appointments... now i just want to take it slow and eat up every moment by baby will be a newborn.

yes she does. caught this during a quick photo session today. yes, he is going to be the most photographed baby on earth. i'm getting back in the swing of things and i just can't get enough of him... neither can his sisters. can't you just see how much she adores him.

ava use to make this same face as a newborn. first visit to the fire station today...notice the "fire station shirt" as the girls call it.

four days

i had a mini photo session with the little guy while daddy and the kids were at the gym. he was a dream client... slept the entire time, let me maneuver him in any position, and didn't even pee on me or my stuff. it's hard to tell here but he's got lily's stork bites on his head and neck and angel kisses on his forehead and eyes.

prince

my prince charming is home. we made it home late last night. we're now a family of five. the girls adore him. lily just want to love him all day and ava is concerned whenever he or i am not around. he's a fantastic sucker. he was sucking his thumb after birth and loves the pacifier but does not want to nurse. the first 12 hours he was just to sleepy now he just doesn't want to latch on. yesterday he got hungry... above is how he reacts to that. he tries and spits it right out. so i tried pumping to get things flowing and then he will latch on. of course no milk yet so i give him what i pumped in a syringe. hoping nutrition will be here soon.

happy father's day

lily is still fighting high fever spikes. she went to the dr. yesterday and looks like she has another uti. it's unusual for her to get fever from them so she's really been miserable. we went to lunch at the fire station today... the girls dressed for the occasion...

so this morning i finally feel ready. another week would be great... but until now i wasn't ready for this baby's arrival. it feels great. now to prepare the house: clean up, laundry, groceries, schedule for pop pop, schedule bill payments, finish up work (i should be done this week!)

well more like a banana split. lily has been cooped up for a couple of days with a fever. she missed a diner date with her two friends and a fathers day lunch at summer camp... so last night after diner and bath we took her out for a little treat at the local ice cream shop. yummm!
